Just curious if anyone may know, or may have talked to the Ministry of Justice recently and has any idea as to where they are at right now as far as the documents they are going over. Such as if they are working on the documents received in November, December, January, etc.
Not a big deal, I am just simply curious. I have sent a few different emails to them regarding different subjects but I have not heard from them in a while, as I am sure they are very busy, so I have not had a chance to ask them.

All I know is hurry up and get used to waiting. It will take longer now for your documents to be processed than in recent years. The Ministry of Justice is inundated with applications from people from all over the world attempting to recover Luxembourg nationality.
Frankly, you likely have not heard back from the Mnistry of Justice because they receive so many e-mails from people asking them, "Do I need to send a translated copy of ....", "My great, great, great, great, great, great, great grandmother was born in Luxembourg but married a French citizen and then immigrated to Brazil, but did not become a citizen, so am I eligble to apply for Luxembourg citizenship?" and on, and on, and on.
I bet they are sick of getting so many e-mails from people.
Now, that said, I am told 8 months minimum for Phase 1 to about 1 year maximum. For Phase 2, I am told 8 months minimum to a maximum of 1 year.
Total: ~ 2 years.
As for your question regarding what month's batch of documents they may be sifting through at the moment, no one can tell you that. At least not any of us. And I doubt that you would get an answer from them if you asked, and you probably should not ask.
I know, you're eager. You won't constant updates on your file. But submit your documents, then forget about them. Stop worrying about the minutiae. It's pointless. It won't help your case.
I understand and even empathize with you, however. Waiting is the hardest part.

The wait doesn't bother me. simply asking a question. Don't need to be rude about it.  also I don't recall saying I needed "constant updates" |

Well, you're wording seems rude to me I guess.
I of course know what the wait is "on average" from the time the documents are received to when they send out the certificates. Alas, it is not uncommon for someone to be curious of how far along things may be, considering it is quite possible for it to have sped up a little or even slowed down. I was not saying I expect for everything to just show up on my door step the next day. All I was asking was if anyone may have heard about anything like what time frame they may be working on at this point.

On April 10th they told me they were still working on August 2014 files.

Oh and this... They are currently working on citizenship by lineage requests that have been sent in in the month of October 2014. They go in chronological order, so if you sent your request in shortly after that you may be next  I suppose now they could be working on November or December. |

Yeah, I'm just a curious person haha. So getting details every now and then is exciting to me. Not trying to "annoy" anyone. I've been in contact with them hundreds of times about various things regarding my documents, and they have also given me an enormous amount of assistance with whom I can email to receive certain documents. If it wasn't for Xavier I might have not even turned my document in already. He always seemed very glad to help me. In my opinion if you like your job, then little things won't bother you too much. Also, I didn't ask him where they were currently at with the months documents they were working on. He was helping me with something and actually mentioned it himself. So I made the post because I was curious if anyone else may have heard anything as well.

Der der der ... haha I didn't even notice you had started this thread when I quoted you. When I spoke with Xavier he was extremely helpful and pleasant to speak with, also Christian Paler has helped me a lot via email too. My file was received at the end of March / beginning of April. At least knowing my data point gives us an assumption where they could be, I hope they can get to my file by end of August!

Hmmm I'm not too sure then. If you have not received a response then that might mean that the ministry of justice is still working in documents from the month of October 2014.

A few days after I wrote the above, I got an email requesting more documents. So, it looks like at least October 2014 apps are on the desks now being examined.

Of course. Im managing the process for my wife.
They asked me for the marriage certificates for her parents and grandparents. I thought birth certificates would be enough--people are people's parents even if they arent married--but apparently they want to see proof of marriage. Maybe they care about "legitimacy" or something. Doesnt make sense to me, but it's their rules.
