Finally after nearly 2 years of signing up for this forum, and just over two years of preparation in total I completed my "Phase Deux" the other day! It took less than 2 (running theme here with the 2s) hours total to get my Luxembourg police certificate and deliver everything to the Beirger-Center. Very efficient stuff going on here. I stayed at the Youth Hostel down the hill near the casemates, >25€ a night with breakfast and free parking.
I did my "Phase 3" drinks at a place called "Liquid" in the Grund, Tuesday night live jazz band seemed pretty packed. I also visited the National Archives and looked at some microfilm but it's hotter than blazes in there and I saw it all on FamilySearch anyways... at least I paid them the 1.55€ owed for the birth certificate copy they mailed me a year and a half ago.
The other Luxembourg things I did was the American and Sandweiler Cemeteries, the Military History Museum in Diekirch and a stay at Esch-sur-Sûre. While there I did a 10km walking tour of Wahl, the birthplace of my GGGrandfather who was the key to this whole adventure.
Leaving today to do a few last things, then on to other Euro countries and ending with Oktoberfest. Kinda sad to leave Luxembourg but hope to be back soon with my real-deal passport!
