Hello, I hope everyone is going well in the forum, about a month ago I wrote to you guys to get help regarding phase 1, also by reading other threads i solved several doubts that I had. I was able to put together all the necessary documents to apply for the citizenship and now I am ready to send them but first I would like to make sure everything is right so we don't slow down the proses, we are going to apply for the citizenship (my mom, 2 sisters, 1 brother and myself) we are all adults, to ask for a certificate for each one of us we have to send the same documents 5 times? Or 1 set of documents would endorse us all? Also, a user here Twoj was very kind and he sent me a refence letter that trevor wrote, does we need to do the letter 5 times for each one of us or in 1 letter put us all? Twoj told me that my mother could ask for her certificate and that later when she presented herself in Luxembourg for Phase 2, she could hand our birth certificates and with that we would also get the citizenship but we want to go all together to Luxemburg and do this process just one time. Because of this I would like to know what do you think is the best option? Should we all apply? Or should my mother apply first and then us?
I hope you can answer all my questions.
Thank you very much for your help and time, me and my family really appreciate it

So, I'm not sure exactly what the best process is. I do know that you can you use the same relevant documentation for every person. So, you'll only need to send in one copy of your ancestors documents for everyone. I asked Florent at the Ministry about this. I cannot overstate how helpful they are. I definitely recommend shooting an email with any questions you have. I have gotten an answer within a week every time I've sent one, usually within a couple of days.
In case you don't have it, the email is info@mj.public.lu

Hi Maurgb
You just need one certificate, if you want to put in 5 applications, select one person to submit the common certificates (all your common ancestors) and then each person can submit their personal certificates (birth/marriage) in their individual applications then put a comment to reference the chosen persons application for all other supporting certificates/documents. Luxembourg seems good at knowing whom is related to whom. For the reference letter I would include it in each application. As far as I know it is not a mandatory document to include but it outlines each persons request, so it is not much more effort if you already want to go through the effort of the application.
"Twoj told me that my mother could ask for her certificate and that later when she presented herself in Luxembourg for Phase 2, she could hand our birth certificates and with that we would also get the citizenship but we want to go all together to Luxemburg and do this process just one time. Maybe I didn't portray my explanation well, whether you choose to apply all together (5 applications) or just let your mother apply (1 application) the time for everyone to get the nationality will be the same. Once your mother has the nationality all the children will automatically and on the same day have the nationality (given that she gave in each child's birth certificate when she submits the phase 2 documents). So if your mother applies, there is nothing for the children to do, when your mother gets the nationality you will all get it. You can all go together to Luxembourg, but the time to process and get the nationality if you all submit an application will be the same as if only your mother submitted an application (with all the children's birth certificates). I hope that make it clearer.
I agree with triciaaa that emailing the ministry always good, but I can verify from personal experience that my son received the nationality at the same time as I.

Thank you very much for your help and time, me and my family really appreciate it I can tell you what I did.... My uncle sent all the documents for HIM (without saying anything to the rest of the family). When he got the Certificate of Ancestor (certificat relatif à l'aïeul), he told us about it, and then everyone of us could apply. We (each one of us) sent to Lux. a letter stating we were relating to the uncle, and all the other documents (so birth certificate, copy of ID, and birth and death certificate of mother and grandmother -to trace the link to the uncle-). I got the answer my own certificate a few days later (plus the time the mail took to arrive ..... 3 weeks later). As for me, I think all of you should apply in the same envelope, with all your documents, but just 1 copy. Hope it was clear...
