Hi! My great great grandfather was born in Luxembourg in 1871 and came to usa in 1880, died in 1925. I am having difficulty finding info as far as if you renounce your citizenship as soon as you immigrate or if this would count for citizenship... Does anyone know??

I don't know. What i would do is try to find all the legal documents you can about gggf, birth, travel, immigration, military service, marriage, death, citizenship. With these documents you might be able to say he did, or did not have US citizenship at a certain date. With that information you can call the Luxembourg nationality hotline and ask them whether he would qualify.
