I sent in my paperwork for the Certificat Relatif a L’Aieul Luxembourgeois a few weeks ago, and I'm a little worried about the 2018 deadline. Any idea how long it takes to get a response, and what form it takes?

They (MoJ)don't send a confirmation that they have received your application, if you didn't send the application with some type of tracking that would confirm they received it, you could contact them by email to request a confirmation. Once they have received it you are fine for the deadline. The only thing they will send you is the certificat by mail, i've seen the processing time is down to a few months (2-3) but to be safe it could be up to 5-6 months. So as long as you can confirm they have received your application, you can spend the time planning phase 2 and the trip there. good luck

I received mine in approx 2 months - which was a lot sooner than I expected. I am not sure how you mailed- and if you had a tracking number?
My package of documents for whatever reason was stuck in customs for 2-3 weeks - so when they actually received it- I got a certificate in the mail within 2 weeks after.

I had tracking on the package, so I know it got there. I'm just wondering about what happens next and when it happens.

Tracking is good. Basically if all goes well you should receive a big envelope from luxembourg with your certificate. It may take a couple months. I looked through my records and found I sent a follow up email to ensure they received the documents, and where they were at with things, provided my complete information and the tracking number of the package and with who I shipped it with. The email is nationalite@mj.public.lu . They took about two weeks to respond however, I recommend including an english and french translation in one email. Once you have the certificate you can begin planning your trip to luxembourg - along with phase 2 documents. I was told your FBI report etc had to be translated and couldn't be older than 60 days when presenting it at the Ministry. Also, that it may take FBI a month to a few months for the FBI to return to you - just to better help plan your trip.
