If you reclaim Luxembourg citizenship, would you have to pay taxes in both your own country and Luxembourg?

Taxes are always a bit tricky since every case can be different, but if you are concerned that obtaining Lux nationality might affect your taxes if you have never lived there and are not planning on living there then don't worry. Basically, like most countries you pay taxes on earned income, however each country has different ways to apply that tax, ie where you were living, where you were working, what type of income, etc. If you are a non-resident, ie you are not living in Luxembourg, then you don't have any income in Luxembourg to declare, ie you made 0-Euro hence you pay 0-Euro. As far as I know there is no requirement to file a tax return in Luxembourg if you never made income there, and you never were a resident there. If you are asking for the US tax, I don't know that system well, but I know they require you to report all world income even if you are a non-resident, but again if you have always been living & working in the US, the lux nationality will have no impact or change to your tax situation.
