I have all of my documents required for Phase 1 ready to be sent it. I am Just curious as to how anyone (whom has completed this part of the process) has organized their documents. A worker at the Ministry of Justice in Lux told me I should also write a letter.

Just try to be as clear as possible. I think I gave all documents a number and added a recap file like 1: birth certificate of xx 2: wedding certificate of xx etc

Thanks. Just trying to be as ready as possible. I'm super OCD when it comes to organization and making sure things are set up well enough. I don't want to spend hours moving documents around if not needed. haha

I have all of my phase 1 documents ready to send in (finally). The letter and certificates do not need to be translated, right? Translation is only needed of phase 2, right?

Yes, the translation requirements are only for Phase 2.

No problem. I believe you only need your birth certificate and passport translated for phase 2.

I can double check. I'm pretty sure I have an email still from them that says I only need the birth certificate and passport translated.

Ok thanks! I won't be that far along for approximately 7 months so no rush.

Criminal record search documents must be translated to either French or German.

The records from your home country? I'm assuming the records you need from Lux are going to already be in French.

Hi everyone sorry I'm missing this information or if it's posted somewhere else in the official documents or another thread, however I'm having a hard time getting clarity specifically on the documents that are needed to be submitted for phase 1.
My great great grandmother was a Luxembourg citizen. I have collected birth certificates for her, my great grandmother, my grandmother and my mother and I. I am wondering if just birth certificates are sufficient? In some of the documents it also lists marriage and death certificates as additional official documents that could be submitted. I'm not sure if I'm supposed to submit a birth, marriage and death certificate(where applicable) for every single member of my family up until her?
