Hi Everyone! If you click here, you can access a lot of interesting stats regarding acquisition of the Luxembourg citizenship. In 2013 for instance, if you check column "Recouvr. 29", these are the amount of new Luxembourg by country of origin! Äddi!

As a citizen of the U.S., it's crazy to see the small number of Americans recovering citizenship through Article 29. I suppose it makes us all very special.

Luxembourg.lu was fully updated recently and is now available is English Thanks. Do you think that Luxembourg will become a tri-lingual country with English, French and German? Or maybe adopt English as an unofficial language? Or has it already adopted English as an unofficial language? It seems to me that in Luxembourg City, the unofficial or default language outside of German and French is English. Or maybe even Portuguese and Italian in many circles.

Hi Tonto. One can say that English is an unofficial language of the country! We became so international that English became slowly a very important language over here! I know tons of British/American people who live here, only speak English, and get their way around! If you'd live in the capital city, you'll realize that French is widely spoken, German not so much.

Luxembourgs official languages are French, German, and Lëtzeburgesch. So wouldn't that already make it a tri-lingual country?

It is indeed the case Moike92, but most foreigners do not master all 3 languages, and since the amount of foreigners is huge, you will notice that not all 3 languages are equally used, especially in the capital city.
