My wife went through one of the official channelers for her FBI criminal background check document. What she got back was a one page notice, official looking, that just said this:
A SEARCH OF THE FINGERPRINTS PROVIDED BY
THIS INDIVIDUAL HAS REVEALED NO PRIOR
ARREST DATA AT THE FBI. THIS DOES NOT
PRECLUDE FURTHER CRIMINAL HISTORY AT
THE STATE OR LOCAL LEVEL.
For some reason, I expected the background check to provide more detailed information or be more extensive.
Does anyone who has gone through Phase 2 have any thoughts they can share about this? I think ive met the requirement, but dont want to show up and have them expecting more.

Be glad. If there was more, it would probably contain details about a criminal history.

Yes. That's what my husband used as well. Don't forget it needs to be translated into French before you submit it for Stage 2.

I'm going through the same thing. Does the FBI background check need to be authenticated or notarized in any way? I had to go through a channeler and they simply sent me a PDF that looks like a memo.
The FBI website indicated they were no longer putting security features on the paper anyway. So I assume this is what I'd get directly from the FBI. Has anyone else gotten this?

When you send in your fingerprints for the background check there is the option to receive the result in the mail or as a PDF file. You would of course want it sent in the mail, and It should have some sort of stamp or something on it to prove that it is a true document.

I didn't get an FBI background check. I got a background check from my local sheriff's office. It was a terrible 5th generation copy of an old typed form but I stopped in and picked it up that day. It was translated and worked just fine.

Did you end up sending in the printed PDF, or having a hard copy sent? I'm at this point, and am wondering whether the printed PDF will suffice. Thank you!

You must have them send you the results per mail, and you must send in that page and a certified French, German, or Luxembourgish translation of that page.
