Hi all:
I know my question is not related to the Lux citizenship, but acquiring a citizenship has some implications. For those of you, who are American, when you apply for a passport, you have to sign that you haven't acquired any citizenship since your previous passport was issued. Otherwise, you have to attach a paper and explain why. Now, when you've acquired the Lux citizenship, you need to write something, does anyone know what it really has to say? (I wouldn't like to be stripped of the US citizenship). I'm not concerned now since I'm not Lux yet, and my passport is not up for renewal before 1 yr and 1/2, but if anyone here has an idea?
Thanks in advance

Thanks in advance Good question! I don't have firsthand experience in this just yet, but the department of state's website has some information about dual citizenship/nationality: travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/legal-considerations/us-citizenship-laws-policies/citizenship-and-dual-nationality/dual-nationality.htmlIt says "...a person who acquires a foreign nationality by applying for it may lose U.S. nationality. In order to lose U.S. nationality, the law requires that the person must apply for the foreign nationality voluntarily, by free choice, and with the intention to give up U.S. nationality." So, I would think that as long as you write that you intend to keep your US nationality, you should be all right.
