Hi Everyone,
I was just wondering if anyone on this discussion board has sought assistance with the re-acquisition application process from the Luxembourg American Cultural Society in Belgium, Wisconsin? I have reviewed their website and seem like they offer great support, but was just curious on whether its possible to go through the process with out working with them?
Thanks!

It is completely possible to go through the process without them. If you have time and patience then you should do it without them. Otherwise it will just cost you a lot of extra money. I did all my research myself and went through the process without their help. It can be very difficult doing the process alone, especially if you don't have all of the information, but I just kept searching and searching and sent countless emails and made it through.

I have found all the birth/marriage/death certificates of my husband's lineage. I think I have all the documentation required to send off the phase I paperwork. I'm just wondering whether I need anything else.
As far as I'm concerned, I'm suppose to send:
. birth/marriage/death certificates of the lineage ancestors . letter of application/cover letter in French . applicant birth and marriage certificates . copy of passport?
Mickey
I would appreciate if someone would confirm this. Thanks so much!!

the cover letter isn’t really necessary but it may help it you have s weird situation. It also must not be in French. You can write it in English

I believe the copy of the passport needs to be certified (mine was when i had sent it)
The cover letter as moike says isn't necessary but I think it does help with any application, regardless if it is weird or not. Since it isn't necessary it could be written in French/German/English, I would recommend in French since most of the written documentation in Lux is written in French. if you need a copy of a cover letter template that i think many of us have used, you can email me at doublejcream@gmail.com
Good luck
